5. Six Secrets for efficient and successful nonsurgical root canal treatment; to be presented by: Prof. Dr. Khaled Balto, King Abdulaziz University, KSA

There is nothing more frustrating than starting an endodontic treatment procedure that takes long time to finish and even yet without satisfactory results clinically or radio -graphically. This problem occurs to many dentists because of two main reasons:
Absence of a defined strategy of approach to negotiate and manage the root canal system and the ignorance of the new endodontic armamentarium that have significantly improved the way endodontics to be performed.
In this presentation I will shed the light on some of the practical points that would add a different flavor into non-surgical endodontic treatment and re-treatment to maximize its efficiency and predictability by emphasizing basic biologic concepts and utilizing the state of the art of new endodontic armamentarium

In the conclusion of the lecture, participants should be able to:
  • Clearly understand the guidelines for proper case selection
  • Recognize common mistakes that are preformed during access preparation and learn a strategic approach to perform sound access opening biologically and efficient mechanically.

  • Learn the advantages of using the rotary nickel titanium files and shed the light on the innovative designs and concepts of the Revo-S system

  • Learn the technique of re-treating endodontic failures with minimum discomfort to the patient and with predictable results using the R-endo system
