About Faculty of Dentistry

HISTORY
The Faculty of Dentistry, Beirut Arab University (BAU) was found in 1995. Since establishment, ten academic departments has been included, thus ensuring quality and student focused education.
The Faculty of Dentistry, implements the latest techniques in dental education to serve students seeking an education and training of a high caliber.
In the year 2000, the Faculty expanded its dental curriculum to incorporate postgraduate education in all ten departments including Diploma, Master Degrees and PhD Degrees, thus providing the Lebanese community with highly qualified dental specialists, as well as future Faculty staff.
The Credit Hour system was adopted in 2005, thereby offering students a more adaptable and responsive course of study that extends over a 10 semester period assuring a better careers in clinical Dentistry and promoting interaction between dentists and dental health professionals.
VISION
The vision of the Faculty of Dentistry is to be a pioneer in dental education, dental healthcare and research projects by tackling all future challenges through advanced technology and hence offering environmental and community services of high standards.
The Faculty of Dentistry aims to:
* Be a leader in dental education and research projects
* Compete with the most reputable international dental institutions
* Provide the most advanced dental health service to patients in the Middle East and Lebanon
* Utilizes the most recent computerized dental technology including instruments, equipments, devices, materials, as well as electronically operated units.
MISSION
The main objective of the Faculty of Dentistry is to provide Lebanon and the Middle East region with highly motivated and knowledgeable Dental practitioners, fully aware of the latest dental technology and the legal implications that pertain to the dental practice.
The Faculty of Dentistry seeks to:
* Implement the latest techniques in dental education.
* Enlist highly qualified staffs who are experts in dental technology.
* Encourage our graduates to seek specialized postgraduate degrees and training.
* Produce highly qualified dental graduates able to provide quality dental service and care to society.
